About Us
Birthed from the glowing embers of 3ManCult, where empowerment and self-actualization were paramount to the nature of the band, THE JOKERS are not just a band transformed, but one transcended - into a 4-pc Gen-X / Gen-Y rock band that lays it down as thick and tight as... well, as live local music can be, so if you're into that kind of thing, you'll be glad you came out to hear the band.
Hailing from SW Colorado and playing a mixture of deep-cut covers, biting originals, and shoulda/coulda-been reinterpretations, you just might swear you've heard this music before... but have you ???
Who are These Jokers?
The Jokers are a Gen-X / Gen-Y rock band playing live in Southwest Colorado. (Durango, Mancos, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, and sometimes further out.) The band was previously known as 3ManCult (different lineup) so if you enjoyed 3MC live (and who didn't) just dial everything up a few notches and you have The Jokers.
AREn't THERE OTHER BANDS with that name?
Oh most definitely, and just about every variation thereof you can imagine. When asked about the name, The Jokers frontman replied, "I really dig the song Rock n Roll Hoochie Coo, by Rick Derringer. In the second part of the first verse he says, 'there was a band called The Jokers and they were laying it down' - and I always thought that would be a cool and kinda ballsy name for a band someday. So when 3ManCult was put on haitus due to unexpected life circumstances, I figured this was as good a time as any - and these guys measure up as musicians, that's for damn sure."
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO these guys PLAY?
Looking for a great band for your venue, festival or event? The Jokers play a genre-bending mixture of originals, reinterpretations, and deep-cut covers; with a few pop covers tossed in from time to time. They can easily cover up to 3-hrs/3-sets (including covers) or up 90-min of originals. Either way, you can count on a solid musical experience every time, with a very intentional focus on sound quality by the band.
are the originals any good?
Fair question. There is probably more "original music" in the world today than ever in history, though that is waning rapidly due to the onslaught of AI generated music. Very soon, you may have to intentionally search out "human generated" music because everything online will be AI generated. Saddest of all are those who will never know, or care if they did. And why should they... if it sounds just as good, or better, who really DOES care? Turns out, The Jokers do. That's why they legitimately play 100% human-generated music. Okay fine, but the question remains: Are the originals any good? Well, music is a very subjective thing, so get out to hear the band at least once. Even if you've heard or seen something online, they're better live. 🙂
